Recommended Vaccinations for Dogs and Cats
There are certain core vaccines that are recommended for all pets as well as lifestyle vaccines that are recommended on a case-by-case basis. We recommend that all puppies and adult dogs receive core vaccines to protect them against canine distemper, adenovirus, parvovirus, leptospirosis, and coronavirus. We may also advise you to vaccinate your dog against canine influenza, parainfluenza, Bordetella, and/or Lyme disease.
All cats should be vaccinated against calicivirus, feline viral rhinotracheitis, and panleukopenia. Cats who venture outdoors should also receive the feline leukemia virus vaccination.
In North Carolina, all dogs and cats are required by law to be vaccinated against Rabies. We can administer this vaccine as early as 12 weeks of age and will administer boosters either annually or every three years.
